Review – Wicked Witch

Friday ‘s After 5 Book Club – feature book is a new release this week from one of my favorite authors

book link

What do tattoos, witches, vampires, a sexy shifter, and an earring-wearing cat have in common…? Definitely something WICKED!

Being a woman in the tattoo business isn’t easy, but Wicked makes it work. But being a witch with a headbanging, rock ‘n’ roll familiar, and having a sexy panther shifter as a landlord makes life… interesting. Throw in some vampire warriors and a whole town of shifters, and things are bound to get a little crazy.

Drop in and visit the town of Assjacket for this wickedly hilarious mixture of paranormal personalities.

My Book thoughts- Perfect Halloween read. Wicked (love the name) is a witch & a tattooist with witch ties to VC Warriors ( The Protectors series) , She’s got a funny familiar (Bruce)  & a hot panther shifter landlord who has her in his sights. Read the book and find out how it all comes to a happy ending.  Lisa

“Rose Pressey’s books are fun!” — Janet Evanovich

A fun and ghostly cozy mystery from USA TODAY Bestselling Author Rose Pressey

Who knew ghosts could send text messages?

If ever a whole town could be haunted, Devil’s Moon, Kentucky would be that town. Ripley Van Raden, or Rip as her friends call her, has come back to her hometown to start her own ghost tour business. That’s not her only career path though. Librarian by day, and ghost tour guide by night, Rip is ready to take on the ghosts following her around and the mysterious residents who show up for more than the tour in the Devil’s Moon Cemetery.

Her first day on the job as librarian, Ripley finds a dead body and a ghost who can only communicate through electronics. Who knew ghosts could send text messages? To make things even more complicated, Ripley meets a hot cop who happens to also be a ghost hunter. She doesn’t know if Brannon Landon is interested in helping her or just around for the paranormal activity.

When Rip discovers threatening notes between the pages of a novel, she must solve the library patron’s mysterious death before she unwillingly joins the other side of her haunted tour.

“If you like Charlaine Harris and Janet Evanovich you might like Rose Pressey too.”

For fans of witch mysteries, cozy mysteries, paranormal mysteries with a touch of humor, amateur sleuths, and women sleuths.

Welcome to Nocturne Falls, the town that celebrates Halloween 365 days a year.

The tourists think it’s all a show: the vampires, the werewolves, the witches, the occasional gargoyle flying through the sky. But the supernaturals populating the town know better.

Living in Nocturne Falls means being yourself. Fangs, fur, and all.

After seeing her maybe-mobster boss murder a guy, Delaney James assumes a new identity and pretends to be a mail order bride. She finds her groom-to-be living in a town that celebrates Halloween every day. Weird. But not as weird as what she doesn’t know. Her groom-to-be is a 400-year-old vampire.

Hugh Ellingham has only agreed to the arranged set up to make his overbearing grandmother happy. In thirty days, whatever bridezilla shows up at his door will be escorted right back out. His past means love is no longer an option. Not if the woman’s going to have a future. Except he never counted on Delaney and falling in love for real.

Too bad both of them are keeping some mighty big secrets…

The case grows even murkier when Raina’s client, the husband of the supposed victim, is found dead at the old pumpkin patch, the site for a contentious new mall development. Raina’s new boss seems more worried about collecting their fee than seeking justice for the deceased.

To make matters worse, her sister plans a getaway weekend in Lake Tahoe to revive her marriage, landing Raina with a tornado of a three-year-old. As if that’s not enough, her grandma is jealous of the time Raina spends with her new fiancé.
